Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including care plans and medical histories.
- Handle phone calls, answer inquiries, and provide information regarding services offered.
- Process insurance claims, including Medicare, and verify patient eligibility.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized records.
- Utilize medical coding knowledge to ensure proper billing procedures are followed.
- Assist in managing inventory of office supplies and medical materials as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate patient care effectively.
Requirements
- Strong clerical skills with proficiency in 10 key typing and data entry.
- Familiar with medical insurance and administrative procedures is essential.
- Knowledge of care plans and experience with medical coding is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and fax machines.
