What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Facilities Worker - Community Center position at Forest County Potawatomi Community?
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Assures that daily work and special projects are completed in a safe, efficient and professional manner.
- Inspects buildings and other structures to determine building maintenance needs and safety checks, prioritizing work and taking corrective actions.
- Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on buildings, including but not limited to: repair and maintenance on skilled carpentry, minor electrical, painting, plastering, drywall, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical repair work, door hardware, minor concrete work, caulking, roofing and flooring. May coordinate with other departments in accomplishing during work hours or outside work hours if necessary.
- Drafts and completes inspection and preventative maintenance reports. May perform research and/or attend training on proper maintenance procedures.
- Reads and interprets sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Assures that swimming pools and associated equipment is in good repair and in safe condition. Tests water conditions routinely and filter media maintained.
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in commercial building maintenance and/or construction. Must have thorough knowledge of tools and mathematical concepts.
- Ability to learn, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures and technical manuals, and wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Pool Operator Certification (CPO) or ability to obtain within 1 year of date of hire.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts as dictated by need of facility.
- Must be able to attend training courses and travel as needed.
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR certification may be required based on location.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
