WHAT YOU'LL DO
General Ledger Management
- Oversee all aspects of the General Ledger (GL), ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with FP&A and other departments to provide insights into financial performance and variances.
- Support external audits by providing requested documentation and resolving any issues promptly.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
- Assign responsibilities and set performance goals for team members, conducting regular evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
- Identify training needs and opportunities for professional growth within the team.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in GL accounting operations.
- Evaluate and recommend accounting systems or tools to streamline workflows and reporting capabilities.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for GL-related activities.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure strong internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets and maintain data integrity.
- Monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures, recommending updates as necessary.
- Stay informed of changes in accounting regulations and standards, ensuring the company remains compliant.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong experience with GL accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, with proficiency in tools such as NetSuite, Great Plains, Workday and Concur.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
