What You’ll Do
Estimator Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Develop detailed proposals, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to gather necessary project information.
- Obtain and review supplier and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and cost efficiency.
- Manage job costing, labor hour breakdowns, and prepare timely change order requests.
Purchaser Responsibilities
- Conduct material takeoffs from construction drawings and create job orders.
- Source and purchase project materials while ensuring compliance with schedules and budgets.
- Negotiate vendor contracts to secure optimal pricing and delivery terms.
- Maintain knowledge of market trends and supply chain conditions to anticipate material availability.
- Work with the sales, logistics, and customer service teams to streamline procurement processes.
What You Bring
- Education: Associate’s degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in purchasing or construction estimating.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam and Procore is a plus.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
