What are the responsibilities and job description for the Portfolio Finance Analyst position at FS Investments?
FS Investments is seeking an analyst to join its Portfolio Finance team. The Portfolio Finance team supports the firm's investment funds by providing services and analyses related to the debt financing of the portfolios. The team primarily focuses on financing for FS KKR Capital Corp. (NYSE: FSK) and supports the other business lines of FS Investments funds such as FS Credit REIT and FS Global Credit Opportunities Fund.
FSK is a publicly traded business development company (BDC) focused on providing customized credit solutions to private middle market U.S. companies. FSK seeks to invest primarily in the senior secured debt and, to a lesser extent, the subordinated debt of private middle market U.S. companies to achieve the best risk-adjusted returns for investors.
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Obtain lender approval for new assets and borrowings by bridging communications between the underwriting teams and the lender groups.
- Maintain and update monthly collateral reports and financial models.
- Provide operational oversight of activities such as borrowings, repayments, interest payments and other cashflows.
- Facilitate internal and external audits.
- Monitor current and pro forma liquidity and asset coverage.
- Understand the terms and structure of our leverage facilities.
- Provide high-quality client service for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist the Capital Markets team with evaluating new financing options or amendments to existing facilities.
The successful candidate will:
- Possess a strong interest in the financial markets and the M&A environment.
- Become knowledgeable about the firm's financing strategies and funds.
- Operate as a self-starter with strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and independently.
- Work cooperatively within a team structure and with other internal departments, as well as external business partners.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years' experience required. Experience in asset management, fund administration, banking or financial services preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- SQL knowledge preferred.
