The ideal candidate, a Rehabilitation Specialist, will have a passion for making a difference in the lives of adults with mental health disabilities. Gateway is a Rehabilitation Program and Global Training Center designed to assist those with daily functions in an interactive, “work ordered day”. Gateway is a non-profit and has been well established in the Greenville community for over 40 years serving more than 1,500 members in integrating back into the community.
Your contributions will include:
- Plans, supervises and coordinates assigned unit activities and daily routines for members, identifying meaningful responsibilities to maintain stability and smooth operations.
- Assists with the daily management of the member transitional employment program, unique to the Clubhouse Model including training members in all aspects of transitional employment placements with various businesses; transport members to and from assignments; counsels and supports members on the job and at the Clubhouse related to work; etc.
- Provide a variety of case management services, developing and maintaining relationships with members (clients) to promote their rehabilitation and provide effective outreach services.
- Orients members to the Clubhouse philosophy, unit structure and the availability of transitional employment and housing opportunities by helping to coordinate the orientation function for new members.
- Provides daily living skills’ support and ensures that the various personal and community living needs of each member is met (e.g., grocery planning, meal preparation, budgeting, etc.).
- Ensures members receive community support services and government benefits as appropriate, assisting with accessing appropriate community programs.
- Unit responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, leading unit meetings, and employment meetings; monitoring finances and providing assistance to members with various tasks as necessary.
- Supports members with independent living needs in the community.
Your background includes:
- Passion and enthusiasm that aligns with Gateway’s mission and vision, engaging harmoniously with coworkers and members.
- Solid experience with SC Medicaid requirements for Behavioral Health Services.
- A bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Work or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
- Engaging experience to guide and train members on entry level jobs in the community.
- An engaging team member who understands the importance of following a specific methodology.
- Professionally grows by attending training in the Clubhouse Model of Psychiatric Rehabilitation.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Experienced in working with adults who have mental health disabilities.
- Available to work some evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must possess a valid SC driver's license, current automobile insurance and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
- Solid computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel); also, database experience preferred.
