Job Description: Inside Sales – Customer Support

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our manufacturing company as an Inside Sales Support. This position requires you to be in the office 5 days a week, Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm. Occasionally you will need to collaborate with the warehouse team and be onsite there as needed to review paperwork or processes. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our sales team, specifically within the commodity lines, Western Tube, Conduit Pipe, Heritage Plastics, by providing exceptional customer service, assisting with order processing, and ensuring smooth communication between various departments. Your excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously will contribute to our company's success in meeting sales targets and delivering outstanding service to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming customer inquiries via phone, email, or online TEAMS chat. Respond promptly and professionally to customer questions, concerns, and requests for product information, pricing, and quotations.
- Order Processing: Collaborate with the sales team to process orders accurately and efficiently. Enter order details into the system, verify pricing, availability, and delivery schedules, and ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Sales Support: Provide support to the sales team by preparing job quotes, sales materials, and pricing proposals.
- Coordination and Communication: Facilitate effective communication between internal departments such as sales, shipping logistics, manufacture representatives and customer support teams to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any customer issues or concerns.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, including order history, interactions, and correspondence within TTS cloud-based and Salesforce order entry solution. Generate sales reports, item performance metrics, and forecasts to support sales planning and decision-making processes.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and manufacture representatives understanding their needs and providing proactive support to enhance their satisfaction and loyalty. Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling products to existing clients.
- Product Knowledge: Stay updated on all the agencies/manufacturers GCD represents. Be knowledgeable on all products, features, and benefits to provide accurate information to customers and assist with their purchasing decisions. Continuously educate yourself about industry trends, competitors, and market developments.
Qualifications:
ü High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business or related field is a plus.
ü Proven experience in a sales support or customer service role, preferably within electrical manufacturing, electrical distributor or industrial environment.
ü Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with customers and internal stakeholders.
ü Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
ü Comfortable using various online ordering portals.
ü Excellent in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
ü Comfortable using Salesforce
ü Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in order processing and documentation.
ü Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
