The Reinsurance Accounting Supervisor will play a critical role in managing complex reinsurance accounts, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Details
- Focus: Oversee reinsurance accounting with an emphasis on complex treaty quota share accounts.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ceded treaty and facultative reinsurance accounts, including complex transactions.
- Record reinsurance transactions: premiums, claims, commissions, and related items.
- Manage cash disbursements/receipts, generate cash call billings, and monitor collections.
- Supervise and mentor a Junior Accountant, fostering professional development.
- Perform reconciliations, statutory reporting (e.g., Schedule F), and ad-hoc reporting.
- Collaborate across departments to resolve errors and enhance processes.
- Act as a primary contact for internal/external reinsurance accounting matters.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 5-7 years in reinsurance accounting (treaty/facultative); supervisory experience required.
