In this critical role, you will ensure compliance with applicable tax legislation and provide guidance on various tax matters as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a comprehensive range of multistate sales and use tax activities, including audits, tax planning, compliance, automation, mergers, acquisitions, and audit defense.
- Conduct research and offer strategic advice on state and federal tax matters, presenting effective solutions.
- Manage Sales/Use Tax software applications, including implementation and ongoing management.
- Leverage digital tools to improve efficiency and minimize task completion time.
- Liaise with state and federal tax authorities, addressing formal inquiries and communications.
- Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to analyze tax accounting issues and maintain necessary documentation.
- Remain informed on current tax laws and regulations to guarantee compliance.
- Support the accurate and timely completion of Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Tax Provisions and Indirect Tax Returns.
- Work alongside external tax advisors on compliance strategies and issues.
- Monitor compliance of third-party preparers with tax regulations.
- Assist with specialized tax-related projects and contribute to day-to-day tax matters.
- Prepare tax payables, provisions, account reconciliations, and journal entries related to Indirect Taxes.
- Collaborate with the General Ledger team to manage tax-related adjustments during month-end and quarter-end processes.
- Develop and uphold controls for the indirect tax process to ensure SOX compliance.
- Ability to independently manage projects and effectively collaborate with others to achieve objectives.
- Strong leadership qualities and teamwork capabilities.
- Proven ability to think strategically and execute complex tax strategies.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
- Experience with Oracle software is an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Excel is required.
