As the Camp Health Director, you will play a pivotal role in fostering the well-being of enthusiastic high school students engaged in an enriching academic seminar over the summer. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Reviewing camper medical histories in collaboration with parents and staff to address individual health needs.
- Establishing a welcoming and functional infirmary, ensuring it is well-stocked and efficient.
- Collaborating with the Assistant Health Director and other program leaders to refine health and safety protocols.
- Being the primary contact for health-related inquiries and emergencies, available for consultation around the clock during the program.
- Conducting health screenings and maintaining daily surveillance to monitor camper well-being.
- Responding to health emergencies, coordinating care and transportation as required.
- Keeping accurate medical records and managing medication administration for campers.
- Participating in field trips to provide on-site medical support.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Maryland State certification or Compact Nursing License as a physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse individuals.
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in high-pressure situations.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in Google Drive and other online communication platforms.
