As the Camp Health Director, you will play a pivotal role in fostering the well-being of enthusiastic high school students engaged in an enriching academic seminar over the summer. Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Reviewing camper medical histories in collaboration with parents and staff to address individual health needs.
• Establishing a welcoming and functional infirmary, ensuring it is well-stocked and efficient.
• Collaborating with the Assistant Health Director and other program leaders to refine health and safety protocols.
• Being the primary contact for health-related inquiries and emergencies, available for consultation around the clock during the program.
• Conducting health screenings and maintaining daily surveillance to monitor camper well-being.
• Responding to health emergencies, coordinating care and transportation as required.
• Keeping accurate medical records and managing medication administration for campers.
• Participating in field trips to provide on-site medical support.
  
  

Required Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

• Maryland State certification or Compact Nursing License as a physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse individuals.
• Excellent judgment and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in high-pressure situations.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Proficiency in Google Drive and other online communication platforms.

Qualifications

Candidates must have:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the healthcare field, ideally with youth.
• Availability throughout the program dates without significant outside commitments.
• A willingness to reside on-site during camp if necessary based on camper health needs.
