Key Responsibilities
- Advisory Services (50%): Act as a crucial liaison among digital risk, legal, risk services, ethics, compliance, audit, procurement, policy, and privacy teams. Provide expert insights on cyber legislation and manage the evaluation and negotiation of supplier contracts, specifically focusing on data security provisions.
- Analytics and Reporting (20%): Oversee a comprehensive cyber metrics program, collecting and disseminating reports on systemwide digital risk initiatives and performance metrics.
- Workforce Management (15%): Lead a team of digital risk professionals, supervising staff, budget, and stakeholder relationships. Provide mentoring, guidance, and establish clear expectations and priorities.
- Governance (15%): Conceptualize and execute a strategic digital risk program that aligns with the organizational mission and objectives. Cultivate relationships with external cybersecurity consultants.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities.
- In-depth understanding of supplier contract review processes as they pertain to information security.
- Proven leadership skills for managing strategic programs.
- Ability to compile and report on comprehensive digital security data across the organization.
- Experience developing and presenting executive-level reports.
- Proficient in coordinating cross-functional teams for audits and assessments.
- Strong business acumen coupled with adept problem-solving abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of privacy and security regulations relevant to higher education and medical centers.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to information security.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive change management initiatives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of technical concepts related to data communications, hardware, software, and services.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training required; advanced degree preferred.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, and CRISC.
