Position Summary
The HR Coordinator actively supports initiatives designed to foster employee engagement and belonging within the Girls on the Run organization. As the first point of contact for applicants, employees, and Girls on the Run councils seeking HR support, the HR Coordinator plays an impactful role in creating a positive and helpful HR experience. This position encompasses responsibilities across the entire employee lifecycle, including full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, benefits and payroll, employee engagement and offboarding.
The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Recruiting
- Steward hiring teams through the recruitment process by managing communications and developing recruitment materials, including job descriptions, interview questions, scheduling links, and assessment materials
- Manage job postings and research new networks or posting sites to drive visibility
- Create an engaging and high-touch candidate experience that exemplifies GOTR’s core values and motivates interest in Girls on the Run
- Conduct phone screens and candidate assessments
- Coordinate recruiting logistics, including candidate communications, interview scheduling, travel arrangements (when needed) and sending final offers
- Conduct reference checks and background checks
General HR Support
- Oversee the HR team’s group email account, serving as first point of contact for employee HR-related questions, referring to other HR team members as needed
- Draft clear and informative staff communications
- Provide direct support in key stages of the employee life cycle including:
- Onboarding
- Employee engagement and surveys
- Offboarding
- Assist with administration of GOTR’s benefits program including:
- Researching new potential benefits, vendors and programs
- 401k distribution management and education
- Managing employee enrollments and enrollment communications
- Preparing annual total compensation statements
- Contribute to departmental initiatives to support HR operations for GOTR councils
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by being familiar with existing and new legislation
Employee Engagement & Trainings
- Support virtual and in-person staff trainings, including the tactical support of coordination, logistics, vendor management, budget management and communication
- Develop HR-related educational materials or staff training resources as needed
- Serve as an advisor to and participate in the organization’s Culture Committee, helping to plan and organize the organization’s internal events and social calendar
- Maintain and update the organizational calendar and HR-related resource pages to ensure key dates, activities and information are accurately tracked and readily available
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction
Admin & Data Management
- Process staff data changes, including pay adjustments and benefit changes in payroll system and applicable vendor sites with accuracy and efficiency
- Ensure accurate and updated electronic personnel file records, including managing time off accruals, tracking and reporting
- Regularly update employee directory and organizational chart
- Maintain tracking and dashboards related to employee compliance, including but not limited to background checks, training requirements, and performance management
- Provide employee-related information and reporting as needed
*While this position is remote, residency in or around Charlotte, NC is preferred to support event coordination. Qualifications
- 2 years of HR or people operations experience
- Proven experience in full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates
- Working knowledge of employment legislation and compliance requirements, HR policies, and best practices in a multistate environment

This is a non-exempt, full-time position at 40 hours per week, offering a compensation range of $22 - $24 per hour, depending on experience.
