The two-time Calder Cup champion Grand Rapids Griffins, primary affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings and proud member of the American Hockey League, announce an immediate opening for a part-time Community Mascot Performer.
Responsibilities:

- Perform as Griffins mascot Griff during designated community relations appearances and team/sponsor/media events
- Entertain and provide remarkable experiences for a wide variety of audiences while serving as a goodwill ambassador for the organization
- Help care for and maintain the mascot costume
Qualifications:
- A flexible schedule that allows for daytime, evening and weekend appearances (ideal for college students)
- Ability to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Expression of a friendly, engaging, enthusiastic and animated personality within a non-speaking role
- Good physical condition and ability to withstand the demands of performing in a costume, sometimes in temperature extremes
- Unquestionably reliable, self-sufficient and professional
- Energetic, outgoing and creative
- Conduct/behavior that adheres to the organization’s core values, mission and vision
- Must be at least 18 years old, have your own vehicle and reside in West Michigan
- Prior mascot or related experience (cheer, theater, gymnastics, dance, etc.) preferred but not required
- Background check required
Compensation:
- $40 per appearance (typical duration 60-90 minutes) plus mileage
