Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Tasting Room Manager to oversee our tasting room operations. This role is essential in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for our guests while ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the beverage industry and customer service, and possess excellent leadership skills to manage a dynamic team. A willingness to learn about the spirits industry is a must in order to effectively train employees.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the tasting room, ensuring a high standard of service and guest satisfaction.
- Train, supervise, and motivate staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences behind the bar and for spirits tastings.
- Create and maintain the schedule of all employees.
- Track inventory of bar-specific items that need to be bought or ordered directly into the tasting room.
- Develop and implement tasting room menus that enhance guest engagement and promote our products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room, adhering to food handling and safety standards.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Monitor inventory levels of spirits, wines, meads, merchandise, and supplies; place orders as necessary.
- Organize special events, tastings, and private parties within the tasting room setting.
- Create offerings and specials around activities happening in downtown Traverse City to stay connected to the local community.
Experience
- Previous experience in a management role within the food or beverage service or hospitality industry is required.
- Familiarity with the spirits industry and distilleries in Michigan is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with a proven track record of enhancing guest experiences.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in food handling practices and compliance with health regulations is essential.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
