Job Description
As the Assistant Project Manager at Baumgardner Finishings Company, you will work alongside our project managers, engineers, and contractors to help ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. You will assist with various aspects of project management, including coordination, documentation, and communication with vendors, subcontractors, and clients. The position will be in person at our Egg Harbor Township, NJ office. Candidates must be adaptable, willing to take on various roles, and have a strong focus on operational efficiency. This role offers substantial growth potential within the company.
Responsibilities
- Assist project managers in overseeing construction projects from start to finish.
- Help manage project budgets and assist with cost estimation.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Assist in tracking project timelines and deadlines to ensure on-time completion.
- Support in preparing construction takeoffs and reviewing drawings for projects.
- Assist with drafting and submitting proposals through Building Connected.
- Compile project-related documents, including RFIs, submittals, and transmittals.
- Attend meetings with contractors and internal project management teams, taking notes and providing relevant insights.
- Assist with project scope management and monitor project progress on-site when required.
- Provide administrative support, including organizing files, documents, and project reports.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Mandatory: Prior experience in the construction industry, ideally in a project coordination or support role.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint), AutoCAD, PlanSwift, and Building Connected.
- Ability to read and understand construction documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from senior project managers.
- Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
