Position Overview:
The mission of the Harris County Holistic Assistance Response Team (HART) Program is to reduce unnecessary law enforcement responses to non-emergency 911 calls. The HART program will be administered by a contract vendor and consists of teams of behavioral health and social service workers and emergency medical personnel who respond to 911 calls requiring face-to-face interventions, low-acuity pre-hospital care, and other social welfare concerns.
Under the Direction of the Holistic Alternative Response Team (HART) Program Manager, the HART Program Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day administrative and support of the programmatic coordination of the HART contract vendor and collaboration with the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO). The HART Program Assistant will work closely with program coordinators, internal partners, the HART contract vendor, and HCSO to ensure contracts, program requirements, and outcomes of the HART Program are met and accurately documented and reported.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support, assist program coordinators and/or Manager with day-to-day tasks and work closely with HART contract vendor in the implementation of Holistic Assistance Response Team (HART) Program.
- Serve as the primary point of contact of HART with all internal and external stakeholder requests. This Includes but is not limited to answering phone calls, responding to emails, and scheduling meetings, taking minutes, sending out meeting reminders, proofreading, making copies of documents, keeping records, data entry, addressing client inquiries, etc.
- Coordinate any logistical issues with HART contract vendor, internal and external stakeholders.
- Draft all programmatic reports, perform data entry as assigned, tracking, and monitoring inter-divisional program referrals, conduct field observations to monitor program progress and ensure program reports and data are accessible in a timely manner to all stakeholders.
- Maintain program/division calendars, send out reminders of all impending events/and or community meetings.
- Work in partnership with HART contract vendor, internal and external offices/agencies to collect relevant program data to help support the mission and goals of HART program.
- Collaborate with internal and external offices/agencies to plan, design, strategize HART and CHVPS community meetings and outreach events to meet the diverse needs and interests of Harris County residents. Participate as required in all division events.
- Be aware of other programs and events, and proactively seek out collaborative partners.
- Ensure program operations and efforts are always favorable to the program objective.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least two (2) years of administrative experience.
- Prior experience working as a program assistant in a relevant field, planning and communicating among various groups and teams within organizations.

Education:- Associate's degree or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or other related field.

- Typically, Monday through Friday: 08:00 am to 05:00 pm (flexible)
- Position may require working after hours and weekends to support CHVPS divisional outreach efforts.
- May require periodic overnight travel and long hours/overtime during emergencies/disasters.
- Work environment is typically in an office environment but may require travel and will involve interaction with the community at public events.
- Public events often take place in the evenings and on weekends.
- Largely sedentary role in an office environment.
- Some duties require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds; bending and standing for extended periods at a time.
