What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Human Resources Assistant position at Heritage?
WAGE:
Wage will be determined based on skills and experience. (Range: $20-$25/ hour)
SCHEDULE:
Schedule may vary based on business need. Scheduled hours will be 9:00am-5:30pm Monday – Friday.
LOCATIONS:
This position will work directly out of the Heritage Building Maintenance Office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
- Coordinates and facilitates employee insurance open enrollment with support from upper management.
- Manage employee safety and wellness initiatives including tracking workers' compensation and FMLA claims and acting as liaison between the employee and the insurance provider.
- Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation.
- Act as liaison between operations and administrative teams.
- Provide back-up support to other administrative team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be legally authorized to work within the United States.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six months or more related experience required.
- Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish will be required.
- Prior human resource or related skills required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work is performed in an office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. Employees will be assigned a work location such as a desk, cubicle, or office space. Heritage reserves the right to alter the assigned work location at any time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Management has the exclusive right to alter the scope of work within the framework of this job description at any time without prior notice.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Direct Deposit Pay every other Friday. Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, and 401K with a company match available for full-time employees working 30 hours per week. Paid Holidays after 90 days for full-time employees working 30 hours per week. PTO accumulation for full-time employees working 30 hours per week.
