THE COMPANY:
Founded in 1946, HI-LEX is a leading supplier of window regulators, door modules, power lift gate systems, and mechanical control cables primarily serving the automotive industry, but also the power sports, marine, construction equipment, and medical device sectors. In the Americas region, HI-LEX has grown steadily in the region, and now has ten (10) manufacturing facilities across the the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. In the U.S., HI-LEX operates under three divisions: HI-LEX America in Battle Creek, Michigan; HI-LEX Controls in Hudson, Litchfield, and Hazel Park, Michigan; and Daedong HI-LEX of America in Cusseta, Alabama. The company’s automotive center is in Rochester Hills, Michigan which consists of finance, sales, engineering, testing, and program management.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager will report to the Human Resources Director and will be responsible for overseeing HR operations at the corporate office and one plant location. The HR Manager will also oversee all health, safety, and environmental matters at all US plants. This role will support the HR Director and will be located at the corporate headquarters in Rochester Hills with requirements of traveling to the plants.

Managing HR & facility operations for two sites, and HSE operations for all U.S. sites.

The HR Manager will ensure that there is always open communication between Shared Services and each department. He or She will lead his or her team to work relentlessly towards earning the trust of the management team by providing reliable and timely data.
KEY ROLES AND RESPOSIBILITIES:

Manages the administration of all personnel policies and procedures, salary talent acquisition, associate relations programs, health safety environment (HSE), & employment programs.

Recruits, screens, and assists with the selection of associates.

Manages all facility management including maintenance coordination, vendor relationship, expansions, and day to day support of two buildings.

Trains, and advises associates on HR, HSE, and facility matters.

Carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings and implement countermeasures.

Creates standard operating procedures.
-
Reviews and monitors all claims including workers compensation and following throughout end of claim.

Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports of all the company’s operations.

Lead and oversee all facility management, maintenance, and support for two facilities.

Coordinate and lead company events.
-
Create and conduct presentations.
-
Investigate employee matters.
-
Conduct training to all associates for HR, HSE, and facility related matters.
-
Ensure all internal and external reporting is completed timely and accurately.

Process Documentation: Create and maintain all standards of procedures.
-
Review and Audit: Facilitate and support internal and external reviews and audits.
-
Data Cleanup: Work closely with other departments to clean master data.
-
Key Performance Indicators (KPI): Monitor performance indicators for the plant, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.

Plant Meeting: Attend all daily, weekly and monthly Plant meetings
-
Risk Assessment: Assess risks associated with plant operations and implement

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources.
FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE:
-
10-plus years of overall HR & HSE experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive industry.
-
At least 5-years managing employees.
-
Experience with facility management.
-
Personal ability to use different platforms including Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, and other HR/HSE systems.
INDUSTRY EXPERIRENCE:

Ideally, the successful candidate will bring a manufacturing background in a fast-paced environment, preferably in automotive.

Experience working in organizations where continuous improvement has been part of the company’s culture.
