Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping Manager to oversee our shipping operations within a dynamic warehouse environment. As a Shipping Manager, you will lead a team to ensure timely and accurate shipment of products while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversees data inputs of all tracking information for each shipment in Mapics
- Maintains inventory cycle counts for all finished goods
- Schedules pallet shipments for freight
- Manages a 2nd verification for each shipment, domestic and international
- Coordinates IP transactions for details to complete kit manufacture orders
- Interfaces with various departments for priority in shipments
- Oversees shipments are prepared timely
- Retains records of shipped products
- Ensures proper packaging and delivery of items
- Orders shipping supplies for the department
- Communicates with customers, suppliers, and freight carriers to resolve shipping discrepancies
- Implements continuous improvement 6S and maintains quality standards Directs, controls, monitors, and provides managerial guidance to shipping team
- Assists Supervisor with performance evaluations, employee relations, and mediates when necessary
- Evaluates performance, performs performance evaluations, and recommends salary action for staff
- Participates in interview and hiring process
- Responsible for the accountability and disciplinary action of the shipping team
- Additional responsibilities and projects, as assigned
- Complies with all company policies, procedures, and safety rules
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years managerial experience in a shipping environment
- BA/BS degree
- Familiar with trucking companies, UPS, and freight vendors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface and communicate with all levels of Company employees
- Excellent math skills
- Ability to train others
- MRP experience (MAPICS MRP experience a plus)
The pay range represents the minimum and maximum rate for this position in California. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed at the lower end of the range.

Have good visual acuity and the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and do repetitive tasks. Must be able to work on multiple concurrent projects and adjust to the changing demands of the workload while maintaining integrity. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Physical/Mental Requirements and Work Environment:
This position works in an office and production environment, which requires the use of personal protective equipment in accordance with the Safety and Awareness Program. Physical requirements include the ability to see, hear, and speak, and lift up to 20 pounds.
Indoor office work requires sustained sitting and use of fingers, hands and arms manually inputting data by computer keyboarding (or accommodation resulting in production of typed documents).
Mental requirements include the ability to collect, review, interpret and analyze documents and data as well as the ability to perform calculations. Must be able to research, solve problems, formulate, and communicate concepts verbally and in writing, including in presentation format or training environments.
Must be prequalified to work on defense projects, per the state department ITAR regulations.
