What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiscal Assistant/Bookkeeper position at Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center?
Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center (HLFCC) is seeking a full-time Fiscal Assistant. The Fiscal Assistant position is dedicated to performing a variety of bookkeeping and accounting duties accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency standards. The Fiscal Assistant performs a variety of analytical and clerical tasks essential to the fulfillment of the internal and external financial reporting needs of the agency. The typical shift for this position is Monday - Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm.
Duties include, but aren't limited to:
- Perform weekly processing of accounts payable transactions including the review of all invoices, check requests, and general ledger coding.
- Prepare accounts payable checks, mail payments or submit electronically, answer accounts payable inquires, and maintain accounts payable support and reports.
- Create journal entries and gather appropriate back-up information for the timely and accurate reporting of transactions in the general ledger where requested. This may include cash receipts, cash disbursements, payroll, prepaids, accruals, deferrals, and other miscellaneous transactions.
- Prepare/assist with general ledger account reconciliations as directed. Prepare bank reconciliations for designated bank accounts.
- Assist with producing the monthly financial reporting package per the established time schedule.
Who we're looking for:
- Associate degree in accounting/related major and 1 year of experience; OR 3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Experience with accounts payable, general ledger, payroll processing and financial reporting cycle. Not for profit experience preferred.
- Recent QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to function as a part of a team and work in collaboration with outside agencies.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
