We are seeking to hire a Medical Assistant/Surgery Scheduler who will be responsible for assisting with patient care and administrative duties at our facility. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for obtaining patient records and test results, coordinating daily administrative tasks, preparing treatment rooms for examinations, and assisting our practitioners during medical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and completely reports and documents status, care rendered, response to care, provider orders, contacts with patient and/or other healthcare providers
- Accurately and completely rooms patients, takes and documents vital signs, prepares patients for provider exam
- Follows clinic protocols and directions given by team leader or supervisor.
- Monitors inventory of medical and/or office supplies and equipment, ensuring units and/or rooms are properly stocked, and supplies are current and not expired. Orders supplies as needed
- Cleans patient rooms as needed, including proper handling of dirty laundry
- May assist providers with exams and testing by setting up equipment, assisting with patient preparation, and cleaning and storing equipment after exam. Reports and documents appropriately
- Maintains equipment (autoclaves, sterilizes, washes, checks expiration dates, etc.)
- Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct
- Regular and dependable attendance
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
Skills
- A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, reference tools, and appropriate clinical knowledge for medical assistant practice scope.
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
