What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planning Analyst position at Holt Manufacturing?
The Planning Analyst is responsible for ensuring material and capacity are available to satisfy production build plans for multiple operations lines. Primary duties require collaborating and resolving issues with the supply base to execute scheduled and planned orders to plan; ensuring alignment of facility inventory accuracy and inventory systems planning parameters with a plan for every part in maintaining planning integrity. In addition, job duties include working and collaborating with facility production schedules and operations personnel to support and satisfy facility production material requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Models and promotes alignment with HOLT’s Vision, Values, and Mission
- Determines and ensures the timely delivery of materials to the facility, collaborating with suppliers to coordinate deliveries, shipping schedules, and work schedules to meet facility production plans
- Partners with suppliers' technologies, collaborate with suppliers, and operations to plan the delivery of material for the production
- Partners, monitors, and collaborates with suppliers to perform root cause corrective actions to resolve quality and supplier performance issues
- Analyzes established parts schedules and production requirements, converting requirements into appropriate piece parts, requisitioning the materials, regulating inventory levels, and issuing work orders
- Analyzes engineering releases for changes and/or new releases and coordinates effective release dates to provide an efficient depletion of related existing stock items
- Manages and performs supplier scheduling and implementation of engineering changes for the efficient manufacture of products and components
- Partners with supply chain performance efforts by monitoring and tracking supplier performance metrics
- Performs work to improve point-of-use material availability, applying root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Maintains optimal inventory level by analyzing demand patterns and changes
- Provides material planning expertise to facility functions in support of improving demand variability, forecast credibility, and usability for production planning
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, manufacturing engineering, operations, transportation, and /or logistics

Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree in Supply Chain Management or 4 years previous Supply Chain Planning, Inventory Management, and/or Production Planning experience required
- Previous experience in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) experience preferred
Desired Qualifications:
- APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification
- Ability to troubleshoot MRP

Physical Requirements:
- Position involves extended periods in a stationary position and the majority of the time on the production floor/environment
- Role frequently communicates with others, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Work Environment:
- Requires wearing proper protective and safety equipment (PPE) This job is generally performed in a manufacturing/production environment, in environmentally controlled conditions
- Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
- Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
- Requires dealing with unpleasant, angry, or discourteous people
