Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and caring individual to join our team as a Cat Welfare Attendant. This position involves hands-on care for cats, both friendly and fractious, maintaining a clean and safe environment, picking up animal related donations, assisting adopters, and supporting our mission of improving the lives of our feline residents.
Responsibilities:
Feed, groom, medicate, and care for cats while closely monitoring their health and behavior.
Clean and sanitize living spaces to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for shelter residents.
Guide adopters through the adoption process by sharing information about the cats and completing necessary paperwork.
Manage inventory and supplies to meet the shelter’s care needs.
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations of the shelter.
Assist with outreach and education initiatives to promote animal welfare.
Qualifications:
Experience in animal care is required. Shelter specific training will be provided.
Physical ability to lift at least 40 pounds and bend and move as needed for this hands-on role.
Dependability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are essential.
Work day flexibility is required. Days of training for the first month will differ from the full time schedule. The full time schedule will include one weekend day. Expect to fill in where needed and any PTO will need to be discussed and filled in by a coworker.
