Research Lab Technician

Job Title: Research Lab Technician

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Hours per Week: 40

Start Date: ASAP

Duration of Assignment: 6 months

Onsite Position/Hybrid/Remote: Onsite

Shift Hours: Day Shift (Flexible, typically 8:00 4:30)

Onsite Worksite Location: Cincinnati

Responsibilities:

Evaluate the chemical properties of polymeric substances for research and development purposes

Prepare samples and standards, conduct chemical extractions, and analyze data using GC and/or HPLC

Prepare plastic samples for microscopy analysis (optical, SEM, etc.) and other rheology, thermal, and spectroscopy tests

Implement safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment

Collaborate with the analytical team to collect and analyze data

Travel to client job-sites to assist with assignments

Requirements:

Associate degree or higher, or equivalent job experience

1-4 years of experience in the industry or a related field, or approval by the Program Director

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, and effectively present information to customers, clients, and employees

Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations to tasks such as frequency distribution and data analysis

Familiarity with computer software packages and automated engineering equipment Ability to apply common sense and problem-solving skills in standardized situations

Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

Lab experience with flammable and hazardous chemicals

Experience with microscopy testing (optical, SEM, etc.)

Familiarity with analytical equipment and tests
