Job Description for Accounts Payable Clerk:

We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable (“AP”) Clerk to join our growing team. The AP Clerk will be responsible for the full cycle of the accounts payable function. This is an office-based role and does not have the option to work remotely.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receiving and recording invoices and processing them to ensure appropriate payments.
• Reconciling accounts payable statements and business accounts to ensure amounts paid align with goods and services received.
• Entering invoice information into the accounting software with appropriate general ledger coding for difference expense categorizations.
• Performing weekly pay runs.
• Reconciling and recording monthly credit card
• Assist with the month-end closing process as it relates to accounts payable and bank reconciliations.
• Assisting with month-end accruals for expenses incurred but not yet invoiced.
• Monitor email inbox daily to address accounts payable items.
• Corresponding with vendors to resolve questions and disputes.
• Maintaining vendor files and performing new vendor approval process.
• Processing and sorting incoming mail.
• Performing related clerical duties including filing paid invoices, back up invoices, and preparing boxes for storage.
• Miscellaneous ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in accounting or related discipline.
• 0-2 years of experience in an accounts payable function.
• Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy.
• Verbal and written communication skills and ability to function as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail.
