What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Incite Strategic Partners LLC?
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee transactional accounting functions and produce timely, accurate financial statements. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience with both NetSuite and QuickBooks Online Advanced, and a proven track record of migrating from NetSuite to QBO. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of accounting operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Transaction-Level Oversight
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger
- Ensure accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., purchasing, operations) to streamline transaction processing and resolve discrepancies
- Enhancing financial statement estimation methodology
2. Financial Statement Production
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal reporting guidelines
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls
3. Systems Management & Migration
- Serve as a subject matter expert in NetSuite and QuickBooks Online Advanced
- Lead or support the migration from NetSuite to QBO, including data migration, process re-engineering, and staff training
- Identify opportunities to leverage software capabilities for greater efficiency and accuracy
4. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Assist in designing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Support periodic reviews (internal and external) by preparing requested documentation and responding to inquiries. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with the CFO and Finance Manager to provide insights and recommendations for financial planning
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes through data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Work closely with other teams to ensure smooth integration of financial processes throughout the organization
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred but not required
- Experience
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on transactional accounting and financial reporting
- Demonstrated experience using NetSuite and QuickBooks Online Advanced
- Hands-on involvement in converting or migrating NetSuite to QBO is highly preferred
- Technical Proficiency
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, data analysis)
- Familiarity with system integrations and process automation
- Soft Skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
