Geriatric Nursing Care Specialist

As a Geriatric Nursing Care Specialist at Interim HealthCare, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and health of our senior residents. This position requires a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Community Staffing team, supporting assisted living/memory care communities throughout the Albert Lea area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments for residents, including medication management and overall health status monitoring.
• Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)/Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) on your shift.
• Provide health education to residents and their families on various topics, such as disease management, preventative care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for residents.
• Respond promptly and efficiently to medical emergencies, following established protocols and providing immediate care as needed.

Requirements:

• RN degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current and valid RN license in the state of Minnesota.
• Previous experience in geriatric nursing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
• A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with senior residents.
