Job Title: Talent and Retention Specialist
Location: Hybrid; Altoona, Iowa or North Liberty, Iowa
Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 40 hours/week
Hours: 8am- 5pm CST
Compensation: Starting at $61,800
*Iowa Donor Network determines final compensation based on education, experience, and skills relevant to the position.
Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities:
- Works effectively with leaders to recruit, retain, and promote a culturally diverse workforce
- Independently develops new and innovative strategies to attract and engage top talent through sourcing tools, professional networks, job fairs and social media platforms
- Facilitates and implements all phases of the recruitment and onboarding process including job posting, candidate tracking and screening, scheduling interviews, conducting background checks, and delivering offers and other employment information
- Develops and conducts a robust and comprehensive onboarding and orientation process in collaboration with various IDN teams
- Collaborates with hiring managers to review and update job descriptions at least annually
- Provides training and tools to hiring managers to ensure compliance with policy and regulations around the hiring process
- Ensures equitable and nondiscriminatory practices meeting Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines and any other applicable state and federal regulations/laws
- Utilizes predictive index (PI) to set job targets that aid in the recruiting process and enhance the employment experience for both employees and leaders by utilizing available PI tools.
- Responsible for the administration and utilization of the Applicant Tracking System in regard to accuracy, efficiency, and reporting
- Serves on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) committee to provide input and ideas around policies, training, and resources at IDN
- Researches, recommends, and implements retention strategies based on analysis of short- term and long-term retention data, best practices and guidance from leadership
- Plans and administers the engagement cycle, stay interviews, and exit interviews
- Tracks and evaluates HR metrics including turnover, time to fill, retention, engagement and other areas as needed
- Achieves results by utilizing data and workforce metrics to drive continuous quality improvement in recruitment and retention processes
Position Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of one to three years of experience with talent acquisition.
- Minimum of one year experience working with applicant tracking systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using social media and LinkedIn for sourcing and advertising.
- Previous experience in recruitment of healthcare professionals desired.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must display a high level of customer service skills and the ability to confidently communicate to a diverse audience and with all levels within an organization
- Assure compliance with all federal and state regulations throughout the recruiting/hiring process
- Is self-directed, takes initiative, and acts with attention to detail to ensure accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and with a sense of urgency while following through on issues in a timely manner
- Effectively use computers and computer software including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, Internet tools, and electronic mail. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.
- Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines while producing quality results
- Must maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and understand the needs of others
- Ability to express ideas verbally and convey detailed or important spoken information
- Maintain a current valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance
Physical Requirements:
- Sit for long periods of eight (8) hours or more at a time in an office setting.
- Requires travel to IDN offices and other locations throughout the state of Iowa for recruitment initiatives (job fairs, conferences, etc.).
