Iron Forge Metal Works is currently looking for a Preconstruction Estimator. The Estimator is responsible for analyzing project specifications, conducting cost estimations, and providing accurate assessments to support project planning and bidding processes.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Functions include the following. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. The Preconstruction Estimator is responsible for collaborating with architect’s engineers, and clients to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
· Review project documents, plans, and specifications to understand project requirements.
· Conduct quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, etc.
· Analyze historical data and market trends to ensure competitive precise cost assessments.
· Prepare detailed and organized bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and project schedules.
· Participate in pre-bid meetings and discussions with project stakeholders.
· Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment on project estimates and requirements.
Education, Experience and Preferred Qualifications include the following.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Proven experience as an estimator in the construction or metalworking industry.
· Proficiency in construction estimation software tools (such as Bluebeam, Procore, or similar).
· Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
· Construction estimating is a plus.
· Experience with value engineering and cost-savings initiatives is a plus.
· Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Work Environment
· Indoor office.
· Sitting for extended periods.
· This is not a remote position.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
