JOB FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for the servicing and maintenance of all consumer, commercial and real estate loans. This role will prepare reports, book and fund new loans and renewals, process loan payments, ensure accurate loan accounting, process updates to loan records, respond to incoming Help Desk requests and prepare documents for imaging.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build new/renewed loans (commercial real estate, mortgage, consumer non-real estate, small business) for exception tracking, and review according to regulations
- Provide support to lending staff to clear exceptions
- Run Credit Reports, Dun & Bradstreet reports, Lien Search, and National Association of Credit Management (NACM) reports as needed by loan officers and loan assistants
- Export files through a secured file sharing system to participating Banks
- File and maintain new and continuation Uniform Commercial Code documents
- Process flood reviews for property in/out of flood zones
- File and maintain new and renewing insurance
- Process title applications with the county and/or state
- Process paid loans and record release of liens (both non-real estate and real estate)
- Process funding for new loans, loan advances, tax and insurance payments
- Prepare and process loan participation entries
- Post loan payments, advances, and payoffs on Jack Henry or through Teller processing
- Understand and master coding to book new and renew loans correctly
- Provide maintenance as needed on loan information to include but not limited to address changes, auto debits, corrections on coding, and late fee waivers
- Generate payoff letters as needed
- Balance and reconcile various General Ledger (GL) and checking accounts
- Review daily & monthly loan reports
- Process all required escrow transactions
- Resolve and analyze loan history as needed if disputes are received
- Prepare Consumer / Commercial Loan documents in a timely manner
- Prepare and process Adverse Action Notices within the required time frame
- Perform inline QC reviews to ensure accuracy of work performed
- Maintain knowledge of various loan processing enhancements, regulations & procedures
- Serve as back up for imaging, loan documentation tracking, other department staff
- Train new/temporary employees
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience
- 3 year’s experience in back-office operations of a banking or financial institution
- Basic accounting skills (General Ledger knowledge)
- Some financial loan processing software knowledge
- Experience providing customer service via phone and in-person
Supervisory Experience
- None
Education/Skills/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college preferred
Equipment/Machines/Software
- Knowledge of Jack Henry, LaserPro, Synergy, LQAS and other types of loan tracking systems preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
- Experience servicing sold mortgage loans (FHLB & Freddie Mac) preferred
- Excellent computer literacy
- Ability to work with office equipment such as copiers, scanners, shredders, fax and telephone

- Ability to prioritize tasks through proper time management
- Basic oral and written communication
- Must be accustomed to a fast-paced office environment

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to hear and speak to communicate with customers
- Must be able to reach, bend and lift files up to 45 lbs
- Must be able to stand periodically throughout the day
- Must be able to sit for most of the day in front of a computer up to 8 hours
- Must be able to read a laptop/computer monitor
- Must be able to type on a keyboard
- Must be able to be mobile in usual office conditions; may be dusty at times due to large amounts of paper handled
