Property Manager

Position Overview:
As the manager of a historic property you will be responsible for the guest experiences at a historic property. You will both manage tour guides and lead guided tours, manage the gift shop, and oversee the accommodations for guests who rent the property for overnight stays. The ideal candidate is a personable, organized, and resourceful professional with a passion for history, hospitality, and guest services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and oversee the overall upkeep of the historic property, ensuring it is presentable, clean, and safe for visitors.
- Provide engaging, informative, and historically accurate tours to guests, tailoring the experience to different audience types.
- Train tour guides and gift shop staff.
Gift Shop Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the gift shop, including inventory management, merchandising, and sales.
- Curate gift shop products that align with the historic themes of the property.
- Train and supervise staff or volunteers working in the gift shop, if applicable.
Guest Accommodation Oversight:
- Manage the preparation and cleaning of the property for overnight guests, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable stay.
- Assist with check-ins, provide a brief history of the property, and ensure guests are aware of house rules and amenities.
- Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Event and Evening Operations:
- Coordinate and supervise the use of the house for evening events or private rentals, ensuring proper setup and adherence to house policies.
- Work with event organizers or guests to customize their experience while preserving the property’s integrity.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage bookings for tours, events, and overnight stays, maintaining accurate records.
