What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inbound & Outbound Scheduler position at Kellogg Company?
Come join our team in Battlecreek as a Plant I/O Scheduler where you are responsible for overseeing inbound and outbound freight and materials transactions, coordinating export and domestic shipments and cross-docking activities. The role supports the planning and managing of shipping schedules to meet plant and customer delivery requirements as well as the coordination of warehouse operations (pick, pack, operate equipment, etc.) as required.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Setting the Pace – Ensure the timely schedule for all shipments, inbound and outbound, for the plant. Create and maintain outbound shipment schedule for shipping – cross docking, warehouse, pass-thru and dual pack.- Think Strategically – Manage and process order cuts while ensuring the most cost-effective carrier in the TM system is identified/used with each shipment to reflect carrier compliance.
- Collaboration – Work with the team and set clear priorities to ensure warehouse inventory, staging and loading operations meet plant requirements.
- Continuous Improvement – Identify initiatives that maximize the effectiveness of resources and enhance customer services, ensure cost controls and streamlining processes.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Required:
- HS diploma/GED with strong work experience in food processing
- Working knowledge of shipping and receiving, inventory management concepts, practices, and procedures
- Extensive ability to utilize available information and quickly problem solve
- Effective communication (both written and verbal)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP or similar systems.
- Ability to learn and use a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization
Bonus Points:
- BS/BA
- Experience in the Food & Beverage industry
- Experience with warehouse/logistics operations
- Experience with SAP/DLX and applicable inventory location system
