Salary: $65,000- Medical, Dental, 401K, Vacation, PTO
Schedule: 8AM-5:30PM
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with concentration in HR or related field and 3 years Human Resources experience including experience with recruitment and employee relations. 2 years of experience in the hospitality industry preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
Employee relations, training, employment, benefits management, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and payroll functions.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for implementation of recruitment and retention programs. Partners and consults with hiring supervisors and managers to make hiring decisions including but not limited to screening and interviewing applicants, checking references and background, candidate review, selection and salary recommendations.
- Ensures recruitment programs are in compliance with government laws and regulations
- In collaboration with the HRD, provide and implement programs to enhance employee relations, measure and improve morale, and offer employee support to each staff member.
- Performs benefits administration, including, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
- Assist HRD with management of J-1 program.
- Provides support to performance management and improvement, policy development and application, pay for performance compensation and compliance with all regulatory standards under the direction of the HRD.
- Oversees the design, development, and monitoring of effective orientation and onboarding programs that properly introduces new employees to culture.
- Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
- Maintains accuracy and confidentiality of all HR information, including but not limited to personnel files, complaints/ investigations, and payroll files.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases.
- Serves as first point of contact for escalated employee relations investigations and tracks all escalated employee disciplinary action
- Assists HRD with coordinating employee recognition programs.
- Work with Safety training vendor to ensure all required safety and compliance trainings are current.
- Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
- Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
- May serves as Project Lead for new HR system/ process implementations.
- Makes adverse action decisions on pre-employment background drug tests and reference checks.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
- Must possess extensive knowledge of ADP or equivalent HRIS system.
- Intermediate level or above knowledge and skills with common office software applications such as MS Office Suite, including but not limited to, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must possess knowledge of employment law, general HR practice, and company policies and procedures.
- Unimpeachable customer service focus.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication and relationship-building skills with a strong desire to exceed customer expectations.
- The ability to prioritize tasks and assignments is key for success in this role.
- Candidate must have good interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a high-pace team environment.
