A prominent residential multi-family developer based in South Florida, is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. As a Construction Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial activities related to construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction accounting to contribute to the success of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Oversee all financial aspects of assigned construction projects, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor project expenditures, ensure compliance with budgets, and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct regular financial analyses, prepare financial statements, and present reports to management.
Project Accounting:
- Maintain accurate project cost records, including tracking and reconciling project expenses, invoices, and change orders.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of construction-related payables and receivables.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to review project costs, budgets, and profitability.
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- Assist in the development and preparation of project budgets and cost estimates.
- Participate in the evaluation of bid proposals, subcontractor agreements, and vendor contracts to assess cost implications.
- Conduct ongoing cost monitoring and provide recommendations to improve project financial performance.
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and government regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during project audits and financial reviews.
- Identify and address any financial and accounting risks related to construction projects.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, procurement, and finance, to ensure effective coordination and communication.

- Serve as a point of contact for construction-related financial inquiries from stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
