Salary: $90-115K base plus bonus

A prominent residential multi-family developer based in South Florida, is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. As a Construction Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial activities related to construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction accounting to contribute to the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

• Oversee all financial aspects of assigned construction projects, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Monitor project expenditures, ensure compliance with budgets, and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct regular financial analyses, prepare financial statements, and present reports to management.

Project Accounting:

• Maintain accurate project cost records, including tracking and reconciling project expenses, invoices, and change orders.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of construction-related payables and receivables.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to review project costs, budgets, and profitability.

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

• Assist in the development and preparation of project budgets and cost estimates.
• Participate in the evaluation of bid proposals, subcontractor agreements, and vendor contracts to assess cost implications.
• Conduct ongoing cost monitoring and provide recommendations to improve project financial performance.

Compliance and Audit:

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and government regulations.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors during project audits and financial reviews.
• Identify and address any financial and accounting risks related to construction projects.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, procurement, and finance, to ensure effective coordination and communication.
• Provide financial insights and guidance to project teams, helping them make informed decisions.
• Serve as a point of contact for construction-related financial inquiries from stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in construction accounting or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of construction industry practices and project accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
