- Appear on behalf of clients at arbitration, mediation, hearings, and at trial
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
- Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies
- Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action
- Take careful notes of all hearings, telephone calls, and activities
- Supervise administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks
- Prepare various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence
- Coordinate with paralegals and administrative staff in connection with keeping track of time records, reviewing client billing, setting up client meetings, and completing client projects
- Abide by firm policies and procedures, including policies and procedures relating to the documentation of activities
- Successful completion of accredited law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree
- An active member of the California State Bar Association in good standing
- 10 or more years of experience practicing real estate law, real estate litigation, or business litigation with significant trial experience
- Advanced computer skills including working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) and other software (DMS systems, CRM systems, time and billing systems) preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Must be able to handle a heavy caseload with little supervision
- Decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must
