We seek a highly motivated, innovative, and inclusive individual to join our Accounting and Reporting team as an Accountant II.
Our team is responsible for financial reporting, preparing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), managing the Schedule of Expenditures of Financial Awards (SEFA), and conducting monthly fund reviews.

Work Schedule
- Typically, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, but start times are flexible.
- Hybrid option: Work from home but in-office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Specifically, this position:
- Reconciles accounting transactions, ensures balance sheet accuracy and prepares necessary journal entries.
- Collaborates with various County departments on financial and accounting matters, including grant compliance and reporting.
- Interprets and applies generally accepted accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, and federal and state grant reporting requirements, including Uniform Guidance.
- Maintains and organizes accounting files by reviewing and analyzing transactions for accuracy and compliance, with monthly reviews of assigned funds.
- Monitors and supports accounting and grant reporting activities for the County’s disaster response fund.
- Assists in preparing financial statements and provides documentation for the annual audit.
We Are Looking For a Candidate Who Will
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparing clear letters and reports for various audiences.
- Have an intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft Excel, including proficiency with basic formulas.
- Summarize and present complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Take initiative in problem-solving and researching new or unusual issues and topics.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Understand the importance of accurate and useful financial information.
- Provide outstanding customer service to other County departments.
- Successfully plan, manage, evaluate, and adjust multiple priorities.
- Look for ways to increase efficiencies and keep an open mind when presented with innovative ideas.

- Bachelor's degree with major coursework in accounting required.
- Three (3) years relevant experience required.
