What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Director position at Laurel Park Behavioral Health Center?
As a Program Director, you will serve on a clinical interdisciplinary team to represent & advocate for each participant’s behavioral health needs. Under general direction, directs the activities of the behavioral program's functions and staff. He/she assures compliance of department activities with department goals and objectives, states and federal laws, and county policies and procedures. He/she also manages and directs the daily activities and division through delegation, managerial support and work supervision.
The Program Director is a salaried, full-time position.
Salary Range: $38.00 to $42.00/hourly
The Program Director will play a critical role by fulfilling these stated responsibilities:
- Plans, prioritizes and assigns tasks and projects; directs the development of performance standards; approves
promotions and terminations - Maintains visual awareness of resident's physical and psychiatric limitations and ensures the safety of residents at all times.
- Monitors the quality of written documentation in the medical record of resident involvement and progress in the special
treatment program on a regular basis. Ensures documentation is accurate, informative and descriptive of the resident's
condition, the care provided and resident's response to the care. - Reviews the appropriateness of resident referrals, including conducting on-site evaluations.
- Counsels, trains and coaches staff; monitors work, develops staff skills, and evaluates performance; identifies training
needs and coordinates training for staff - Monitors operations and procedures; evaluates division and program issues, and recommends and implements
solutions; develops and approves recommendations for improving the division's operations and processes; assures that
strategic goals are reached - Serves as information source and liaison between the division and various state and regional organizations and
agencies; serves on committees and other groups - Educates clinical staff on safe and appropriate use of facility Care and Safety procedures using the principles of least
restrictive treatment. - Participates in daily, weekly, and/or monthly interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss residents’ progression in relation to discharge planning for residents
- Identifies and collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team, physicians and consultants and community agencies to identify opportunities for enhanced services to the residents and/or resolve issues.
- Promotes teamwork, mutual respect and effective communication. Promotes positivity and daily problem-solving skills.
Must Have:
- Must Have 2 years of supervisory experience
- LCSW, LMFT, Therapist (Art, Music, Dance, Occupational, Recreation), Social Worker
Nice to Have:
- Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) environment or Mental Health
