What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Associate Attorney position at Lavery Law?
Harrisburg civil litigation firm has a full-time associate attorney position available. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn from senior attorneys and experienced litigation associates. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for performing legal research, drafting pleadings, drafting written discovery documents, drafting responses to discovery requests and keeping client files up to date with written reports and summaries. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to manage their own files with appropriate supervision. The position offers the successful candidate room to grow and to assume new responsibilities. .
Litigations Associate Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, and motions;
- Conduct legal research, assist senior attorneys to prepare for depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, trial, and other legal proceedings;
- Communicate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently; and
- Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is available for senior attorneys, paralegals and support staff.
Qualifications For The Successful Candidate Include:
- Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school;
- Successful completion of the Pennsylvania Bar examination;
- Prior litigation experience will be considered;
- Prior civil litigation experience is a plus, but not necessary;
- Ability to work with senior attorneys;
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills required to work with senior attorneys, paralegals, and staff members;
- Strong analytical ability and strong attention to detail;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Ability to prioritize assignments; and
- Exceptional writing skills.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
