Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join a dynamic team in the food manufacturing industry. This role involves supervising a team of 5-6 AP clerks and ensuring accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of AP processes, and the ability to drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor an AP team of 5-6 clerks, providing training and support.
- Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and conduct regular evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Invoice Processing:
- Oversee the accurate coding, matching, and approval of invoices.
- Resolve vendor discrepancies and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing to meet payment deadlines.
Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Address and resolve billing, payment, or account inquiries.
- Monitor vendor accounts for overdue payments and potential risks.
Payment Processing:
- Manage preparation and execution of payments, including checks, ACH, wires, and credit card payments.
- Ensure all payments align with company schedules and cash flow projections.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on new technologies and recommend system improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of AP experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of AP processes and accounting principles.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team development.
