General Description Assists the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include reconciling bank statements, analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Reports organization's finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
- Define, prioritize, and complete month-end close procedures.
- Analyze and process 3rd party reports for processing and posting revenue, COGS and inventory transactions. Reconcile deferred revenue where necessary.
- Prepare monthly General Ledger account reconciliations.
- Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
- Assist with financial and tax audits
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
- Prepare monthly royalty reports for content contributors
- Primary responsibility for daily and monthly bank statement reconciliation
- Coordinate and prepare annual Florida Tangible Personal Property Tax Returns
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting, and 4-6 years of experience
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MSWord, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting.
