About the Job: Shearon Environmental Design Company, a leader in the landscape industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant to join our team in Chester County, PA. Reporting to executive leadership, the Accounting Assistant will play a vital role in payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and other critical financial operations while contributing to the overall efficiency of our office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately code weekly timesheets and process payroll.
- Help determine payroll policies and procedures, ensuring timely and accurate paychecks.
- Manage and ensure the processing of new hires, seasonal workers, terminations, and related information.
- Review and analyze payroll data critically to maintain accuracy.
- Assist in tracking snow hours, posting snow timesheets, and preparing billings.
- Provide support with the H-2B visa process as needed.
- Manage weekly maintenance billings and related reporting tasks.
- Process and follow up on accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Update planned hours and contracts as required.
- Assist with miscellaneous office functions and special projects.
- Gain familiarity with Sage accounting software to run reports.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting, payroll, or a related role.
- Proficiency with Sage or similar accounting software.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and reporting tools is a plus.
