Job Title: Animal Care Team Dog Walker

Reports to: Shelter Manager – AWT & Animal Welfare Team Lead
FLSA Status: Part-time, Non-exempt

Pay Rate: $15.69
Summary:
This position will be for someone who is reliable and dependable. They will strive to show compassion for each animal. This position requires a positive attitude and drive to improve the lives of companion animals.
The Animal Care Team Dog Walker is responsible for daily dog walking and shelter cleaning. This position provides hands-on care for all shelter dogs and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Shelter Manager and AWT Lead.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Is a representative of Longmont Humane Society, presenting a positive, friendly, and welcoming environment to all visitors.
- Performs daily walks of dogs.
- Performs a variety of tasks, includes daily kennel cleaning, feeding, exercising.
- Maintains general building cleanliness inside and out.
- Assists staff with daily priorities.
- Performs dishes and laundry duties in dog sections.
- Good attendance is required.

- Ability to share duties with a colleague.
- Enthusiastic, dedicated team player.
- Ability to respectfully communicate with other team members.
Working Conditions:
- Animal shelter environment.
- Potential exposure to high noise levels and zoonotic diseases.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Indoor and outdoor working environment.
- Frequent use of scrubbing tools resulting in repeated scrubbing motions.
- Exposure to wet floors.
