LSSI is hiring a full time Benefits Manager, Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Responsible for the management and administration of employee benefit plans.

Essential Functions:
- Administer the benefit plans, including but not limited to health, leave of absence programs, life insurance, AD&D, and long-term disability.
- Analyze existing benefits policies and practices among similar organizations to ensure competitive benefits programs.
- Participate in the development and implementation of employee benefit plans.
- Evaluate services, coverage, and options available to ensure programs are meeting the needs of the organization. Recommend plan changes to management.
- Ensure compliance of employee benefits programs with all legal requirements.
- Oversee preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employee benefits programs.
- Serve as liaison with third party administrators.
- Oversee the ongoing enrollments into the benefit plans and processes changes as needed.
- Monitor and update leave of absence status including conduct audits to ensure accurate and timely payment of DLP and PLP for time off for leaves of absence.
- Review invoices and prepare vouchers for payment for all group plans as well as prepare funding requests for FSA/HSA.
- Collect and track co-pays, payments, and reimbursements.
- Perform scheduled audits for retiree life insurance.
- Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of related and progressive experience in the areas of Benefits or Human Resources required.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in the area of Benefits or Human Resources required.
- Minimum of two (2) year experience administering employee leave of absence plans required.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and/or SHRM certification preferred.
- Experience adhering to federal, state, and local leave laws preferred.
- Prior experience using Ceridian Dayforce preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive data with discretion.
- Experience meeting internal and external customer expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, resourceful, highly dependable, efficient, and detailed oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
- Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
- Background check clearance required.
- Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
- Access to reliable transportation required.
- Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
