HR Generalist and Payroll Administrator ($70,000 - $80,000 per year)
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Generalist & Payroll Administrator to provide comprehensive HR and payroll support across multiple company locations. Reporting to the HR Director, this role will support HR initiatives including employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and talent management. Additionally, under the guidance of the Payroll Supervisor, the HR Generalist will ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing, including Certified Payroll reporting. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with analytical skills and a passion for delivering exceptional HR and payroll services.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Generalist Functions (50%)
- Support full-cycle HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including open enrollment, claims resolution, and employee education.
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in performance management, coaching managers and employees as needed.
- Facilitate training initiatives and employee development programs.
- Manage employee relations, handling investigations, grievances, and disciplinary actions in collaboration with leadership.
- Ensure HR compliance with applicable federal and state labor laws and regulations.
- Lead HR and payroll process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
- Identify opportunities for HR process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and employee experience.
Payroll Administration (50%)
- Oversee payroll processing across multiple company locations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Process weekly Certified Payroll reports, ensuring full compliance with prevailing wage requirements.
- Utilize payroll systems and coordinate with external payroll providers as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and generate reports for finance and management teams.
- Process wage garnishments, benefits deductions, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies.
- Serve as the point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing guidance on pay statements, tax withholdings, and direct deposits.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years HR Generalist experience and payroll administration, preferably in a multi-site environment.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional), PHR/SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred.
- Proficiency in Paychex payroll and HRIS system highly desired.
- Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations across multiple states.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- In depth knowledge of employment laws and payroll compliance regulations.
