Job Description
The desired individual will be responsible for performing a variety of bookkeeping duties including data entry of receipts into QuickBooks weekly for three companies. The bookkeeper will maintain and monitor a variety of focused/restricted accounts, complete bank reconciliations and other end-of-month accounting and prepare appropriate financial reports for the owners and accounting firm. They will also work closely with the accounting firm and provide all necessary financial data for an annual audit.
* Must be 21 yrs of age
* Need to pass a State of Maine background check
* Need to have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license
* Passion and knowledge of cannabis a plus but not a requirement

- Part-Time: 20 hours/ week
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts all duties associated with weekly accounts payable including: expense coding and data entry
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Assist in 1099 preparation
- Proactively maintains highly organized filing system; files invoices, reimbursements and other financial records
- Documenting transaction details
- Putting together financial reports
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
- Fact-checking accounting data and notifying senior staff of any errors
- Calculate interest charges
- Recording financial transactions
- Perform special projects, research and duties as assigned
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
- Advance proficiency in QuickBooks is a must.
- Associates degree (or an equivalent degree) with at least three to five years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Additional proficiency in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Docusign etc.
- Good knowledge of standard accounting practices
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow under deadlines
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Strong mathematical skills
