IT Specialist
The IT Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure across multiple offices. This position will work with internal teams and external service providers to provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers (Windows OS), applications, and related technology infrastructure. Support tasks include receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user requests. Also responsible for specification, installation, and testing of computer systems, and peripherals within established standards and guidelines.
Essential Functions

· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s IT infrastructure, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, including hardware, software, and networking systems.
· Responsible for IT development including contract negotiations, product evaluation, and purchase of hardware/software.
· Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures
· Recommends information technology improvements, strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes
· Respond to phone calls, email, and in-person requests for technical support
· Purchase, install, configure, and sustain ongoing usability of desktop/laptop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines
· Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
· Provide support for communication systems (VOIP phones, local phones, video conferencing systems) and work with providers to add, remove, or manage the system
· Work with external service provider to maintain VPN connection between offices
· Assist in the organization and inventory of all desktop hardware and software resources including license management
· Create and maintain a budget for IT purchases and upgrades to be provided to the board
· Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing training and advice
· Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues
Competencies
· Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office 365, Windows Server, Email Administration, Virtualization Technologies, Network Monitoring, LAN/WAN Networking Concepts, Mobile Devices, Phone System, etc.
· Proficient with Troubleshooting Hardware/Software Issues Including Removal/Replacement of Hard Drives, Memory, Etc. for Both Laptop and Desktop Computers
· Excellent Problem-Solving Skills with Attention to Detail and Follow Up
· Great Customer Service Skills
· Excellent Interpersonal, Verbal, and Written Communication Skills
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephone system, photocopiers, postage machine, calculator, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
Travel
Travel will be required between all MCE locations
Education and Experience
· 2 year experience in desktop hardware and PC application support within a networked environment
· Bachelor's Degree in MIS, IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred but not required
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
