What are the responsibilities and job description for the Events & Administrative Intern position at MICPA?
Looking for a fun, fast-paced summer internship that builds real-world skills? Want to be part of a team that makes an impact? MICPA is on the hunt for an enthusiastic and curious individual to join our Learning Team as an Events & Administrative Intern! Our team plans and executes hundreds of learning programs in May and June, and you’ll be right in the action—helping behind the scenes, interacting with our members, and gaining valuable experience in customer service, event planning, and association operations.
What You’ll Gain:
- Hands-on experience in event coordination, member support, and office operations
- Communication skills through phone, email, and chat interactions with members

What You’ll Do:
- Be the first point of contact for member inquiries via phone, chat, and email
- Assist with event logistics – packing, loading, and setting up materials
- Conduct outreach calls to members about upcoming events and fundraising efforts
- Keep things organized with data entry and electronic file management
- Provide general administrative support and collaborate with a great team!
What We’re Looking For:
- A positive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn
- Strong communication skills (comfortable talking to members on the phone!)
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work in-office (Troy, MI)
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs (we’ll provide carts to help!)
Bonus Points For:
- Customer service or office experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
