What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst Market Settlements position at MIDCONTINENT INDEPENDENT SYSTEM?
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily-run activities to ensure timely and accurate market settlements.
- Execute weekly, monthly, and annual settlement tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data issues and improve processes.
- Investigate and respond to participant inquiries via Microsoft Dynamics.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing for settlement systems.
- Analyze complex datasets using SQL and other tools to drive insights and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FERC, NERC, and SOC1 controls.

What we are looking for…
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Energy industry experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in querying and analyzing large datasets from relational and non-relational systems (e.g., Oracle, Netezza, SQL Server, MongoDB).
- Hands-on experience with SQL, SQL-Plus, PL/SQL, and scripting languages.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office; experience with Dynamics and Azure is preferred.
