Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to become Houseparents, providing a nurturing environment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. As a Houseparent, you will reside on-campus with your spouse and guide a group of 8-12 students, ensuring a family-like structure.
This role involves daily responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. You will also handle household tasks and ensure the well-being of the students in your care.
We are looking for couples who have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses must be at least 27 years old and meet certain qualifications.
As a Houseparent, you will enjoy a competitive salary of $43,825 per person, along with comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. You will also receive a schedule of nine days on followed by three days off, allowing for personal time while students are at school.
Some key requirements include:
- Experience working with youth
- Couple must be legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
