At Milton Hershey School, we are seeking married couples to join our team as houseparents. In this unique role, you will provide a nurturing environment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, guiding and supporting them in their personal growth and development.
Job Overview
Milton Hershey School is a private school that provides an exceptional education to students in pre-K through 12th grade. Our school is fully endowed, allowing us to provide all necessary resources for our students and staff to thrive. We are looking for married couples who share our commitment to providing a family-like structure for our students.
As a houseparent, you will reside on-campus with your spouse and be responsible for managing a home for 8-12 students. Your duties will include driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. You will also play a key role in fostering a family-like atmosphere, leading daily devotions, and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of $43,825 per person, totaling approximately $150,000 per couple, including free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability options, and retirement savings.
We also provide relocation assistance and paid training, as well as a schedule of nine days on followed by three days off, with workdays including a period of personal time while students are at school. Additionally, you will receive a three-week paid summer vacation.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. You and your spouse must be legally married for at least two years, both be age 27 or older, and have no more than three dependent children residing in the student home. You must also be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and take students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
